I’m not entirely sure how, but the store setup went smoother than ever and we made the takeover in less than three hours - meaning we had some time left to explore New York. My favorite part was Brooklyn - there’s so much street art, and too many coffee shops and great restaurants to choose from. We rented city bikes - something I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting as it’s definitely the best way to travel there. Obviously you can’t hit up the Big Apple without going shopping. My must visits if you’re looking to take the plastic for a walk are Aime Leon Dore, Rapha, and Saturdays.
On the event day, thankfully the sun which just meant vibes were high. We kicked things off at 6pm and by 8pm, the Saturdays shop and its garden were full of people. We walked artists, skaters and surfers as well as NYC locals through our newest collections and some Db classics, tucked into pizza and beer, tore up the dance floor and clocked out of the shop at about midnight. We may or may not have hit the town after, and yes, we woke up hangover the next morning, but that’s history.
