Olav Stubberud
"When I was 13 I got my first real camera and got my first photo published. It went from there."
Olav Stubberud is one of the OGs when it comes to content creation. He started in snow, got his first photo published at 13 and his career skyrocketed from there. Shooting skiers and boarders soon turned into shooting fashion campaigns, then came Bieber, The Chainsmokers and Kygo. Olav has never pigeoned himself into just one section of the industry - his thirst for challenging himself and learning new skills has kept him developing as a creative and as a person.
"Snowboarding is such a free form of expression. A lot of who I am right now has come from that scene. You kind of got praised if you did something different and that’s something I have carried through my entire life."
Olav's passion project, Basic, is an art project that focuses on merging the ultra-analog with the ultra-digital. It's bold, whacky and definitely different - something he has never shied away from. Coming from Snow, he says 'different' was celebrated and rewarded, and ultimately helped his videos stand out from the crowd. The drive to be different is something that has stuck with him Olav he was thirteen, and undoubtedly the root to his success as a creative.
